About

About Color World

Color World was created by Shafaq, an 8-year-old girl from London.

She wanted children from all around the world to have a place where they could enjoy coloring, creativity and learning without ads or distractions.

Her dream is simple:

For children to explore. For children to create. For children to learn. And most importantly, for children to have fun.

Welcome to Color World.

Color World is a colouring and early-learning website for children aged about 3 to 7 and up, and the grown-ups who colour with them.

Every picture is sorted into three age groups, and the drawings really change: huge friendly shapes for the youngest, simple scenes for 5โ€“7s, and detailed patterns, mandalas and busy scenes for 7+.

Parent Area

A guide for grown-ups

This area is for parents, carers and teachers. The children's pages are kept separate and simple.

What is Color World?

Color World is a free creative playground for children aged about 3 to 7 and up. Children can colour hundreds of original pages, create their own pages, characters, stories and worlds, explore countries, flags and landmarks, play puzzles and games, and learn about colours, numbers, letters, science and languages.

Why colouring helps creativity

Colouring invites small decisions (which colour, which part first, what goes next to what) with no wrong answers. That builds confidence to experiment. The Color Lab turns those choices into real colour knowledge, and open tools like Build My World, the Creators and Story Maker let children invent something entirely their own.

Age guidance

  • Ages 3โ€“5: one big subject, very thick outlines and large spaces. Perfect for tap-to-fill and chunky crayons. Builds grip, colour and shape recognition.
  • Ages 5โ€“7: simple scenes with a background, a friend and props. More choices and more places to practise staying inside the lines.
  • Ages 7+: detailed scenes, patterned clothing and scenery, decorative borders and mandalas. Good for concentration and planning colour schemes.

Learning benefits

  • Fine motor skills: colouring, tapping and tracing strengthen the small hand muscles used for writing.
  • Colour knowledge: the Color Lab and Color Quiz teach primary and secondary colours, warm and cool colours, tints and shades.
  • Early maths: counting, number recognition, shapes, comparing, then adding, taking away and times tables.
  • Early literacy: letter recognition, letter sounds, spelling, vocabulary, grammar and short reading passages.
  • Creativity and confidence: daily challenges and stars reward trying things. They are never competitive.

Printable activities

The Printables section has A4 packs by age and by theme, plus a full Aโ€“Z alphabet pack. Each sheet has a name line, handy for classrooms and fridge galleries. Use โ€œSave as PDFโ€ to keep a pack for later.

How the educational sections work

  • Color Quiz: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced rounds of 8 picture questions.
  • Math Fun and English Fun: rounds of 8โ€“10 questions picked for ages 3โ€“5, 5โ€“7 or 7+. Questions change every round. Where your browser supports it, ๐Ÿ”Š reads questions aloud.
  • Fun Challenges: a daily and a weekly creative prompt.
  • Stars: gentle rewards for exploring. There are no leaderboards and no comparing with other children.

How World Explorer works

Children pick a country on the map (or a continent) and follow a short, optional path: learn simple facts, colour the flag, discover a landmark, hear a word in the local language, meet an animal and try a short quiz. Each visited country adds a stamp to a private World Passport. Facts are kept simple and checked against reliable sources; foods are described as enjoyed in a place rather than โ€œbelongingโ€ to one country.

No advertisements

Color World has no adverts, no sponsored content, no in-app purchases and no advertising trackers. There are no pop-ups, autoplay videos or push notifications.

Accessibility

Large buttons, keyboard support, text labels for screen readers, colour names alongside colours, read-aloud where the browser supports it, and reduced motion when your device asks for it. More about accessibility.

Screen-time-friendly design

  • No streaks unless a grown-up switches one on (see below), no daily-login rewards and no endless feeds.
  • Games are short rounds with a clear end. Timers are off unless a child turns one on.
  • Stickers and badges celebrate trying new things, never comparing with others.
  • The Calm Corner offers quiet colouring and a breathing bubble, and almost everything can be printed for off-screen play.

Brain Puzzles. The daily Brain Puzzles (Purrfect Cat, Picture Sudoku, Picture Cross, Colour Flow and the Slide Puzzle) have no timer unless your child turns one on, and no leaderboards. Every puzzle has exactly one answer and can be solved by thinking alone. Hints are always there; fewer hints just earn more stars. Only Purrfect Cat has hearts, and running out never locks your child out or costs anything.

Privacy

Color World works fully without an account. Children are never asked for an email address, surname, photo, school, birthday or location. Without an account, saved pictures, favourites, stars, coins and stamps are stored only in this web browser on this device, and clearing your browser data removes them.

Optional family accounts. A parent, guardian or teacher (18 or over) can create a free family account to save each childโ€™s progress across devices. The account holds the grown-upโ€™s email address and username; each child profile holds only a first name or nickname, a preset character, an age band and their Color World progress. Saved pictures still stay on your device. You can download or delete everything at any time from the Family account page. There is no chat, no public profile, no leaderboard and no comparison between children. Read the full privacy notice.

Names typed into Create & Color, the Creators and Story Maker are first names only, are checked by a simple safety filter, and are used to draw on this device. If a grown-up uses the contact or idea form, the message (and the email address they choose to give so we can reply) is sent to us through Formspree, a form service, and used only to answer it.

๐Ÿ’ก Have an idea?

Suggest a new colouring topic, country, language, game or learning activity. Press Send this idea and it goes straight to us, or copy it / email it yourself. Grown-ups, please send it for little ones, and donโ€™t include childrenโ€™s names or personal details.

Color World works fully without an account, and children are never asked for an email address, surname, photo, school, birthday or location. This notice explains what happens if you use Color World as a guest, and what changes if a grown-up chooses to make an optional family account.

Using Color World without an account

Your artwork, favourites, stars, coins and passport stamps are stored in this web browser on this device only. They are not uploaded to us. Clearing your browser data removes them, so download anything you want to keep.

Optional family accounts

A parent, guardian or teacher aged 18 or over can create a free family account to save each childโ€™s progress and carry on from another device.

  • About the grown-up: email address, username, a securely scrambled (hashed) password, and when the account was created and last used. The email address belongs to the grown-up. We use it only to sign in and to send account emails (confirming the address, sign-in links, password resets and deletion confirmations). We never send marketing emails.
  • About each child (up to 6): a first name or nickname, a preset character, an age band (3โ€“5, 5โ€“7 or 7+), an optional 4-digit profile PIN (stored only in scrambled form), and their Color World progress, such as pages finished, coins, stars, stickers, passport stamps, games and creations finished, and levels.
  • Never collected for children: email address, surname, photo, school, birthday or location.
  • Saved pictures in โ€œMy bookโ€ stay on your own device and are not uploaded.

Why we keep it

Only to run the account features you asked for: saving progress, showing levels and stamps, letting you carry on from another device, and keeping accounts safe (for example stopping automated sign-ups and checking for misuse).

Where it is kept and who helps us

  • Supabase stores the account database and handles sign-in, on servers in London, UK.
  • Resend sends account emails on our behalf.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile checks that sign-ups and sign-ins are made by a person, not a robot.

Who can see it

Only you, when signed in, and a small number of Color World team members who look after the service. Team access requires two-step verification and every team action is logged. There are no public profiles, leaderboards, chat or sharing between families.

How long we keep it

Until you delete the account. Accounts that are not used for 24 months are deleted automatically.

Your choices

From the Family account page you can download all of your familyโ€™s data as a file, change your username, email or password, remove a childโ€™s profile, or delete the whole account at any time. Deleting is immediate and permanent, and we email you to confirm.

Create & Color

Names and words typed to make a page are used on this device to draw it, and are not saved to an account.

Cookies and browser storage

Color World uses no advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. If you sign in, your sign-in session is kept in this browserโ€™s storage so you stay signed in; signing out removes it.

Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts and the PDF tool from cdnjs. Contact and idea messages go through Formspree and are used only to reply.
